Busy every day, but is the business making money?

Ask most owners how business is and you get “busy”. Ask what the profit was last month and the answer is a pause, then an estimate. That is not a character flaw; it is what happens when sales live in a receipt book, purchases live in a pile of invoices, and money lives in three places: the till, EcoCash and the bank.

The questions you cannot answer today

  • Which five products make most of your margin, and which ones are just taking up shelf space?
  • Who owes you money right now, and for how long?
  • What is the real cost of the item you sell for $10, once transport and wastage are counted?
  • Did you make more or less than the same month last year?
  • If a supplier asks for payment on Friday, can you pay and still make salaries?

Each of these has a wrong answer that costs money. Restocking a slow product, extending credit to someone already three months behind, pricing below true cost: you only find out when the money is gone.

The bookkeeper is not the answer

A monthly bookkeeper tells you what happened six weeks ago, in a format made for ZIMRA, not for decisions. You need to know on Tuesday that Monday’s margin was thin, not in November.

What “live numbers” means in practice

With EasyBiz, every sale at the till or on WhatsApp reduces stock and records the money, every purchase records the cost, and every payment in or out hits the right account. From that, on your phone, at any time:

  • Sales today and this month, against last month.
  • Money owed to you, by customer, by age, with a WhatsApp reminder that goes out by itself.
  • Money you owe, by supplier, by due date.
  • Bank and cash position across USD and ZWG.
  • Margin by product, so the slow, low-margin items show up before the next order.

Nothing extra to enter: the numbers are a side effect of running the shop through the system.

Multi-currency without the headache

USD and ZWG in the same day is normal here. The system holds both, applies the rate you set, and reports in the currency you choose, so a ZWG sale and a USD purchase land in one honest picture.

Which package

Any package gives you the money picture; the size is about how many customer conversations you handle. A trader with a handful of B2B customers is a Trader; a workshop is a Workshop; a professional firm billing time is Solo or Firm. If you already keep books somewhere, the setup includes bringing in your customers, suppliers and opening balances.
